In a culture that demands increasing speed and attention, StrattonKnits seeks to slow down and live more intentionally. The purpose of my shop is to create more sustainable alternatives to some of the most-used objects in our homes, inviting personality, warmth, and mindfulness where there may have been none before.

For me, knitting is the bridge between design, function, and homemaking. It reminds me of spring breaks at Grandma’s without internet or adult worries; sitting with my mom as her mothers taught her how to fill a home with love—lessons I still value today. I’m a homebody living in a small space on a modest income, so it’s important to me that the things in my home are not just beautiful, but also useful and accessible. Getting to use a knitted dishcloth that I made brings me joy and awakens nostalgia (plus, it makes cleaning up after dinner seem a little less daunting!). So from my home to yours, enjoy.
